Podia

Podia is a furniture solution with an integrated cave and two floors as well as storage space and an Amfi staircase.

Podia attracts both young and old and can be recommended for libraries and common areas etc.. It offers many functions as well as a cozy reading booth for one or more pupils. It is even possible to sit under the Amfi staircase to get a complete cave sensation. Furthermore, Podia offers a small zone for transmission of information on the staircase. On the side, nine storage compartments for books and papers are provided. The bookcase can be turned towards the cave or towards the surrounding room.

The furniture can be placed against a wall and placed freely in the room to create a closed space. When Podia is placed against a wall, the wall will help form a shielded cave at the bottom. This can be a splendid idea for children in need of extra tranquility for contemplation. If the shelves are placed facing the cave, they can be used for toys/books, which are always close by when the cave is used for playing or relaxation.

If Podia is placed freely in the room, it provides other functions and can be used in other ways. For instance, there is easy access to the bottom cave from both sides.

Another possibility is to place two Podias beside one another or in continuation.

The banister on the top floor allows the users to overlook the surroundings with its unique design, at the same time protects from peeps from the outside and serves as fall protection.

Podia can be used as a sanctuary, where students can find a hideaway, but at the same time see what’s going on in the rest of the room. They can work concentrated either alone or with fellow students or – especially for younger pupils – to forget time and place while diving into a fantasy world.

The multifunctional furniture is an attractive option for most children.
